New Artist: Britni Elise

Introducing Britni Elise a rising R&B songstress from Cleveland Ohio who has a voice of an angel, very smooth and melodic. Her voice kinda reminds me of Aaliyah. She is signed to major league baseball player, Kenny Lofton’s K-Lo Entertainment and has toured with Monica, Trey Songz, Ginuwine and Mario. I’ve been following Britni`s music career for a few years now and I’m so impressed with her growth vocally and as artist, she has a lot of potential to be a superstar. I`m so happy to hear she just wrapped up production on her yet untitled debut album that’s due out next year, can’t wait to hear it. In the meanwhile you can check out some of her music below.

Introducing Alice Smith

I discovered Alice Smith's music a couple of years ago, on the recommendation of a friend and I was blown away Alice Smith's voice is so unique, fresh, sultry, deep, expressive, and simply beautiful. Her voice is matched with a very unique style, not easily classified in any specific genre. Her debut "For lovers, dreamers & me" perfectly showcased her commanding 4 octave vocals which critics have compared to Tina Turner's or even Billie Holiday, Nina Simone. The album received a Grammy nomination in the Best Urban/Alternative category, but didn’t win. The songstress is currently working on a new album titled “The Last After” and I can't wait to hear it .In the meanwhile, here are two live performace of two tracks off the album "Martha" & “Moving lights”, check them out below.

And here are something of my favorite tracks off her first album that I recommend you check it out.

“Dream”

“Do I”

“Fake Is The New Real”

“Secrets”

New Video :Miguel Brings-'Sure Thing'

In the clip, Miguel is in love with a stripper, but it's not as skanky as it sounds. It's actually a tasteful and beautifully shot video. And if this is your first time hearing "Sure Thing," do yourself a favor and pick up All I Want Is You to hear that and much more because it's quite an enjoyable R&B album.

"I`ll BeThere"is the lead single from Tiffany Evans`s 2nd album titled "Ms Tiffany". Love the song and video, one of the most slept on voices in the industry...

Music Meltdown: 2010's Man Of The Year: Cee-Lo Green

There were a handful of men who have made an impact, positive on the musical landscape. But it is near-criminal to think of the year without giving praise to Mr. Cee-Lo Green. He`s my man of the year...

Music Meltdown: 2010's Woman Of The Year: Janelle Monáe

Janelle Monáe's success over the course of this year has been deserved is an understatement. Building on her 2007 release Metropolis: Suite I (The Chase) and the curious murmurs of when she signed to Bad Boy, she danced up on the haters and made many of them converts to her own School of Funky Futurism...

Music Meltdown:The Album Of The Year Janelle Monae`s "The ArchAndroid"

Janelle Monae`s debut album "The ArchAndroid"takes the title for the album of the year.

"The album opens up with a sweeping, energetic orchestral overture then immediately moves on to the next three songs played without break. And with only the first 4 songs (and just as many genres), you know you are in for a ride like no other. The ArchAndroid just grips you and never eases up giving you time to breath, it just keeps moving forward. With songs like Come Alive, Tightrope, and Cold War, Suite II is very in your face compared to Suite III. Suite III starts with another overture then it mellows out with a quick burst of energy on Make The Bus featuring Of Montreal (arguably the weakest track on the album) and ends a couple of songs later with the 9 minute multi-sectioned song BaBopByeYa, one of the best songs on the album. And with all the sonic imagery Monáe puts into the album, it is easy to imagine just what is going on ."-Daniel White

Music Meltdown: 2010's Song Of The Year: Cee-Lo Green's 'Fuck You'

"Fuck You" by Cee-Lo Green is its old-school flavor, hearkening back to the days when profanity wasn't found in music.Yet, it doesn't fail to capture a very authentic feeling, delivered honestly and very frankly--expletives and all.Sometimes a cuss word is just what you need to cut right to the chase.

Flash Flake...

by Simone Stolzoff
You rest as a snowflake melting on my fingertips.
I wish my last few syllables
could caress your cheeks—
instead they bead.
We always were a kind of slush,
somewhere between a liquid and a definition.

There were days
I saw your body language in bold
and I could have sworn
your eyes hummed
that they were happy to see me.

But today something isn’t quite sticking.
I can feel your palm begin
to unfasten from my fingertips.

One of these days,
I know I’ll look down at my hand
only to find the cool damp remnants
of where you once were.

Art...Adam Neate

Self-taught painter Adam Neate has a new exhibition at Elms Lester Painting Rooms. With a very distinctive style, his ’3D’ paintings look like a modern remix of Dali, Bacon and Picasso. Neat’s used to give away his work to friends and donate it to charity shops, until he realized the charity shops binned these offerings rather than selling them. After realizing this he started leaving them in the street instead, for any discerning passer-by to take. Over a 5-year period he left thousands of works all over London
